Beginner’s Class Schedule (Class Schedule effective 10/19/2025)

Instructors:

  • Nek Kru Jenda Kong (Language Instructor, Beginners Level for ages 5 to 12)

  • Lok Kru Sam Bo Son (Language Instructor, Beginner Level for ages 13 and up)

  • Lok Sanhei Nhor (Language Instructor, Intermediate Online for ages 8 and up. Students younger than age 14 may need parents/guardian assistance to log in for class.)

Learning Outcomes by Level: 

Beginner:

  • Know all or most of the consonants, vowels and numbers

  • Know and understand some daily conversational phrases

Intermediate Online only:

  • Be able to read and write sentences.

  • Be able to comprehend and converse in daily basic conversation.

Class Expectations:

No phone usage and side conservations during class unless instructors allow for the lesson. Respect the instructors. 

Bring supplies such as:

  • Paper, notebook

  • Pencil, pen, eraser

  • Worksheets and class homework

Weekly homework assigned by instructors. 

Parents please help encourage your children to practice at home. 

Typical class lessons can consist of reading/writing exercises and activities such as songs, poems, and games.

Typical Class Structure:

  1. For in Person Class, please arrive 15 minutes early to help set up tables and chairs, and sign in on the attendance sheet.

    For online students be prepared to sign into class 5 minutes prior the start of class.

  2. Class will start on time, all students are expected to greet your Instructors in a respectful and formal manner before the start of class.

  3. Class will end on time or 15 minutes early at the Instructor’s discretion. Only, if there are no other pressing matters or discussion needed to discuss with the Instructors.

  4. All Students will properly and formally address their Instructors properly when leaving class to say their goodbyes for the day.

General Information: 

Anticipate some quizzes or exams to occasionally assess the students’ level so instructors can modify lesson plans.

We appreciate parents’ volunteering and participation for: 

Parent Advisory Committee monthly meeting (expected, strongly encouraged)

  • First Sunday of every month

  • 3:30pm–4:30pm at APCC during KLACA class time.
